Because of my own experience as a home educating parent I specialize in individualized programming and I enjoy helping families learn as a family. Reaching academic goals is important but even more important is the process involved in reaching those goals. Welcome to Anchor Academy!! My name is D’Atra and I have the pleasure of teaching some of the most amazing students in our school - those in Kindergarten thru Grade 3!! I have been married to my husband Matthew for 17 years, and we have been blessed with 2 beautiful children - our daughter Baylee is 13, and our son Justin is 11. I love spending time with family and friends, going out for coffee, long walks, fresh cut flowers and getting lost in a good book! My favourite Bible verses are Jeremiah 29:11-14. This is my 4th year working with Anchor Academy. Prior to joining the Anchor Academy team, I taught in the public school system as a Music and Kindergarten teacher. Presently, my husband and I are home schooling our three little princesses—Cara(5), Katie (3) and Cassie (1) in Oyama, BC. We love living and learning in the Okanagan and try not to take the beauty of God’s creation for granted.
