This is my second year with Anchor Academy, and what a privilege to serve with such a wonderful staff. I have been working in Christian Education for 7 years; primary focus being Special Education. Prior to working in education I spent 12yrs working with individuals with mental illnesses and their associated behaviors. Our Heavenly Father continues to lay on my heart, those children who are more challenging to reach and teach. God has blessed me beyond my expectations with life experiences that have led to incredible resources and a heart of compassion for all. My husband and I have been married and have lived in Oyama, B.C. for 15 years, we have 4 wonderful children aged 21, 19, 14, and 11 who continue to be a source of great joy and our greatest blessings. It is with great anticipation that I enter the school year 2011-2012. I pray that our Heavenly Father will guide my each and every step and that with a servant’s hearts I will help meet the educational needs of your family. God Bless!

I am blessed to be sharing in the growth that Anchor Academy is providing for our communities. With my elementary education degree and special education schooling, I am enjoying the opportunity to share my faith and love of Jesus with children. Thank you for welcoming me into the family of Anchor Academy, I feel included and valuable. With my dedication, teaching and assisting students through the individual education journey, I am blessed by the rewarding experiences. I enjoy exploring the natural environment, active living and family time with my husband, daughter and extended family. May God bless all of you this year and always.

I’ve been in the sunny Okanagan for many years and have been in Education ( in Special Needs field) for since 1991, working with students and families with a variety of challenges. I find it wonderfully rewarding! I enjoy the great outdoors, swimming, hiking and boating. My faith journey continues to lead me in a closer relationship to comprehending how marvelous God is, and how boundless His love is for us!

It is a wonderful thing to have a job that you love. God has given me so many opportunities to learn and share these past few years. With a Special Ed Dept. that includes two other teachers, we are able to work in the area that we are trained and gifted in. I get to do what I like best and that is working with students, researching, setting up programs and sometimes testing people. Along with that I am an artist so I am able to teach a few students art. Learning is important, but it is ok to have fun as we do!

My name is Margaret Scruggs. I feel I have the best of both worlds at Anchor Academy. Since completing my Masters at University of Victoria I have been both teaching, and assessing students with educational difficulties.

I love cycling and travelling. Last year I had the privilege of going on a mission trip to India. As a growing Christian I am learning how willing God is to be active in my life.
