Advanced Placement

Advance Placement Program (APP or AP)

Our school has received approval to offer AP courses and AP examinations for this BC Ministry of Education (BC MOE) program.  AP is an initiative of the College Board and is a global program, currently offering 37 different subjects.

The AP Program courses are funded by the BC MOE for DL enrolled students, grades 10 to 12, provided it is the school year, or before, in which they turn age 19.  The school year in which a student turns 19 is the last BC MOE funded year.  These students can continue their education with Anchor Academy, taking 1st year university/ college courses at home!  Only the College Board non-refundable exam fee of $86 is payable in advance by the student.

Non DL and adult students may also enrol for AP courses at their personal expense.  Contact Anchor office for more information.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

- All AP courses are transferable for credit at most University/Colleges.

- significant cost savings for university and college-bound young people.

- increased opportunity to access post-secondary institutions with limited space.

- enhanced likelihood of qualifying for scholarships.

- a jump start on the young person's advanced education.
