Ready-Set-Learn

Ready, Set, Learn!

Ready Set Learn is an event initiative by the B.C. Ministry of Education funded  to promote learning readiness in preschoolers. As home educators, “learning readiness” is something that we try to instil naturally within our young children, but it is always nice to get a little encouragement along the way.   During the spring, Anchor Academy offers the Ready Set Learn Event to its families. The event consists of two parts:

The first part of the event consists of a mail out of the Ready Set Learn resource package to interested families with a three-year old (during 2011 school year). Families are encouraged to contact Anchor Academy if interested in receiving a resource package. Some of the items in the resource package include: picture books, developmental information and activities; Focus on the Family brochures; Learning supplies i.e. scissors, glue, crayons, and learning booklets i.e. alphabet, number and reading readiness.

The second part is an Open House that occurs each Spring at Anchor Academy‟s office (7201 Hurst Road, Salmon Arm, BC). The Open House is an opportunity for parents to visit Anchor Academy and to meet and receive school information from both the principal and primary teachers. Parents are welcome to look at and discuss various programs, curriculums and resources that Anchor Academy offers. Parents will also receive a Ready Set Learn resource package that can be taken home and used right away with their 3-year old child.

Anchor Academy is looking forward to working together with families with young learners through our Ready Set Learn Event!
